about Rachel
Rachel Blackwell is a native New Yorker, a long time freelance still life stylist and a visual artist. She approaches styling with the eye of an experienced maker of 2D and 3D objects, ranging from costumes and masks, to video and collage. Rachel gravitates toward finding simple solutions, being hands-on and direct, and striking a balance between technical sophistication and clear vision. In addition to styling, she has made art for sets, surfaces for still life photography, specialized props and art objects for print, video, theater and performance. She is the Artistic Director and a performer with the collective Dirty Churches.
